It aborted again, this time without leaving any notification in the log!I asked Kaspersky to perform a "Quick Scan", which apparently examines only some of the current user files which it completed in under 10 minutes and found nothing.I restarted the Mac. So I quit twhirl plus everything else and started again. However Kaspersky Mac took two hours to scan 1% (allegedly), maybe it niced itself, then it was "stopped" as it was scanning Adobe's airglobal.swc. Roblox studio for macWhen you factor in these slow run times, and the slowdowns you’ll get in performance of the apps you’re using during scans it makes it even harder to justify. They are creating products for a market that doesn’t exist. The risk to reward ratio just isn’t there imo. Around that same time news also came out that Norton opened up a whole in OS X that could be exploited, a whole that wasn’t there before installing. So while you can say “it can’t hurt”… in the current state of the Mac there is a very limited benefit to be had from running an AV (unless you just want to be a filter for windows users around you) and from my experience at least a lot more at risk. I uninstalled Norton and everything was fine. After 2 days of everything I could think of I found out Norton put out a corrupt AV def that was doing it. He wasn’t aware one was built into the OS. Kind of like my dad who was running a 3rd party firewall in addition having a hardware firewall in his router and the OS X firewall.
